New York, July, 25, 2011—OneVoice Palestine (OVP) held a third and fourth performance of their storyteller series in villages near the northern West Bank cities of Jenin and Nablus on June 26, reaching over 500 children.
The first event was held in the village of Faquah outside of Jenin. Later the same day, a second performance took place in a public park amphitheater in the village of Asira ash-Shamaliya, just north of Nablus. It was organized by OVP youth leaders from the Nablus chapter.
“The children became more aware of the importance of building a future state,” said Malaka Samara, 32, who was in attendance. “They started to realize the Palestinian dream through the play, because theater is the language that everyone can speak and understand…this [type of learning] is our way to achieve our future, our dreams.”
