OV at Nottingham

OneVoice held a magnificent event that was the first of its kind on a campus that is well known for it’s hostility over the Israeli – Palestinian conflict. OneVoice gathered Jewish, Muslim, Palestinian, and Israeli students together. Heads and executive committee members of all parties were present and actively took part in the discussion. Ana Lipnik and Abeer Al Natsheh both explained the role they play within their societies and how they changed from being passive observers to influential activists. The event gathered around 70 students who showed much support to OneVoice and expressed their interest in joining the movement and forming a chapter. The discussion also included different shapes of Palestinian nonviolent resistance and Israeli citizen’s involvement in the army. The two solution vs. a one state solution was thoroughly discussed as well.
