OneVoice was hosted by the Student Union at this University which is known for the very high level of tension between the different student societies over the Palestinian – Israeli conflict. On most occasions where the conflict is discussed or mentioned, hostile activities would follow. We had an audience of about 30 students, mostly from the Jewish society. A few Muslim students were present and only one representative from Action Palestine was there. Although preparations were made with all relevant student groups, there was an overwhelming attendance from the Jewish and Israeli side. After Ana Lipnik and Abeer Al-Natsheh presented their powerful stories, the group discussed ways through which OneVoice can have strong presence on campus in a way that would include all groups. This event will be followed with a training session and forming a OneVoice chapter.
