it is striking that of the 4 posted essays, the palestinians dream of freedom, of a better life, of a life without checkpoints and with freedom of movement, a life without fear, a life of harmony with their israeli neighbours, while the israeli essays barely mention the palestinians and are stuck in the past (siderot), or in a still militarized future (idf soldiers as "peacekeepers"). it does not bode well for a sustainable peace. kk

I have to agree with the previous comment by Kirkland Newman - it's very noticeable that the Palestinian essays cited here are about a future of freedom for all, whereas the Israeli ones seem to dwell on the past and on yet more 'defensive' military action. I believe more and more that one secular state for all - Isratine, Palael, whatever they want to call it - is the only way to break the cycle and move forward.
