Daniel.
Israelis and Palestinians are thirsty to know the real past.
The news and newspapers are the dominating info - source of the people.
Schools have failed generations.
And prejudices are surviving.
Old and openminded volunteers could be recruited to dispell the prejudices on both sides.

Daniel,

Beyond knowledge, the Middle Eastern nations suffer most from the religious division.

I can not guess which country will be the first Turkish style secular state.

A wild prediction is perhaps Saudi Arabia, as many Saudis have received Western college education.

S.

Apologies if this is a little off-tangent, but in response to the point about religion in the middle east..

Considering the messages that are communicated to us via various media forms in Britain, Europe and America its not difficult to understand why people think that the Middle Eastern region is dominated by Islamist extremist governemnts. The reality is they're not; the influence of islamists is often-
inaccurately-overemphasised. Palestinian and Lebanese societies are considered the most secular Arab countries along with Tunisia, Kuwait and many others.

S: I'm also curious as to why you anticipate a Turkish-style secular state in the middle east?

Maybe Blair’s visit and the promises for a meeting between Israeli and Palestinian leaderships will start negotiations for peace.

Hi,
I just started a peace group and didnt realize OneVoice existed. I have a good bit of members already because Id already had some contacts. I was just wondering, what is the most productive thing a peace group can do besides dialogue? The end goal is peace, do you guys plan events or what? Please email me an_arabian_knight@yahoo.com

Dear Mohammed - thanks so much for your note, i'll pass it on to my colleagues Sayyed and Miriam who can give you some ideas about practical action and how you can be a part of our campaign to seize back the agenda in the Middle East. Watch this space :)
