***PALESTINIANS RESOURCEFULLY TRAVEL BY HORSE & DONKEY TO REACH OUT: Scores of Palestinian outreach volunteers and staff members are carpeting villages and towns as they gather signatures for the Proclamation.  Overcoming travel restrictions, some resilient members rode horses and donkeys to reach their destinations. Staff members initially encountered suspicion and accusations of treason in some of the refugee camps.  But leaders across the spectrum of Palestinian politics – including Fatah, People’s Party, FIDA, and Nidal – as well as the heads of the Youth Committees – intervened and were instrumental in explaining the initiative’s importance to the Palestinian people.  Civil society, PLC, and community leaders encouraged their constituents and members to participate.
